Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Hello and welcome to my website. A wide variety of reasons lead people to seek counselling; we are all unique and life experiences can affect us very differently. What some people seem to cope with well may leave others struggling. You might be apprehensive about what counselling entails, or been having difficulties for some time already, perhaps you are wondering if your problems are serious enough to warrant having counselling. I hope this website will offer a clear introduction to counselling and what I offer as a therapist.

In a nutshell, counselling provides a confidential, non-judgemental environment in which you can share what may be worrying you. Therapy offers a safe, objective space to explore your difficulties that is different to the relationships we may have with family or friends. I will offer an empathic relationship, alongside support and insightful challenge, helping you to consider the root cause and different understandings of your experience. My aim is to assist you in your own healing, and facilitate an environment where you can tap your own innate potential to lead a more contented and fulfilling. I do not offer advice or solutions, but instead create an environment that supports your autonomy in making decisions and changes that feel right for you.

Research shows that it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship that predicts good outcomes in therapy, rather than the type of approach, therefore it's important that you feel comfortable with the therapist that you choose. I offer a reduced price initial session so that you can meet me and find out what I offer before going ahead with therapy.
